For some it’s to bring back fond memories and relive favorite songs and artists. For others, it’s to experience the music of today.
Either way, offers a night out under the stars swaying to music that invigorates the soul.
Voted Best Live Music Venue year after year, the privately owned Dr Pepper Park, located beside the 91ÇÑ×Ó River at the base of Mill Mountain in the heart of the downtown district, features dozens of concerts, festivals and special events from April through October.
At Dr Pepper Park, concert goers are encouraged to take a trip down memory lane as part of the ever-popular Cundiff Heating and Air Flashback Series, which features renowned bands and artists from the past who are either no longer alive or no longer touring. These bands not only play the music of famous artists, but re-create their concerts down to the most detailed movements, allowing the audience to feel as if the original performers are playing their legendary hits live in front of them. Band members are decked out in costumes that accurately depict the groups during their real heydays of touring.
Tribute artists closing out the remaining concert dates include ABBA (Aug. 16), Kenny Chesney and Luke Bryan (Aug. 22), Journey (Sept. 26), Diary of an Ozzman (Sept. 27) and Shoot to Thrill (Oct. 3).
In addition to the tribute band concert series, this year’s summer-to-fall slate of concerts offers fans popular national acts as part of the Northwest Ace Summer Concert Series. Upcoming shows include Colt Ford (Aug. 14), Sara Evans (Aug. 15), Sammy Kershaw (Aug. 24), Nitty Gritty Dirt Band (Aug. 30), Chase Rice with Drake White (Aug. 31), Tom Sandoval & The Most Extras (Oct. 4) and Texas Hippie Coalition (Oct. 18).
